Website Development

Web development is taking a lead role in search engine optimization (SEO) as website loading time and having a mobile responsive website both influences search engine ranking more. Executing the code properly which is used to develop the website to W3C standards will also impact search engine results.

Developing a static website that loads quickly can be a quick solution to a web presence. But people are leaning more to content management systems that offer webmasters easier updates and some extra help in the background with such features as automated Site Map updating and A/B testing.

WordPress has inherit vulnerabilities from hackers. In 2015 there was a ‘zero-day hack’ that gave access to an entire website (running the current WordPress version) with one bit of malicious Java inserted into a comment. Plugins are developed by third parties which means they can be created to give unauthorized access to the website with built-in back doors.

Joomla has a WYSIWYG (what-you-see-is-what-you-get) editor and like many hosted graphic editors can create gibberish in the code. WordPress for instance doesn’t currently support tags in the visual/graphic editor and erases them when you switch to that view for the page so a plugin is necessary to accomplish that data.
